Organization
The current organizational structure of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is listed as the following chart encircled in solid lines. Under the College is the electrical engineering research group and computer science research group. The electrical engineering research group consists of the Department and Graduate Institute of Electrical Engineering, the Graduate Institute of Electro-Optical Engineering, the Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering and the Graduate Institute of Electronic Engineering.The Department of Electrical Engineering focuses on improving the teaching quality of undergraduate courses. The Graduate Institute of Electrical Engineering contains power, automatic control, computer and Biomedical Engineering Group, and each of them carry out the relevant research; the Graduate Institute of Electro-Optical Engineering is dedicated in the research of the latest electro-optical technologies; the Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering comprises Electromagnetic Waves Group and communication and Signal Processing Group performing communication-related research in electromagnetic waves, wireless communications and signal processing; the Graduate Institute of Electronic Engineering consists of nano-ele ctronics, Integrated Circuit,systems and electronic design automation group carrying out research related to micro electronics. The graduate institutes in planning are shown in the following chart surrounded in dashed lines. The Biomedical Engineering Group under the Graduate Institute of Electrical Engineering singled out and became the Graduate Institute of Biomedical Engineering.
There is a Communication Research Center under the College dedicated to integrating research projects related to communications, implementing academic cooperation and promoting industrial technologies. Also, there is a functionary “Biomedical Research Center” that promotes inter-college and –department integrated research on biologic, medical and information fields.
